Test Equipment Development Technician Jobs in Abu Dhabi, UAE
Position Overview:
The Test Equipment Development Technician is responsible for the integration of payload systems, Conduct ground testing, Support flight test preparation and execution, Operate test equipment during ground and flight testing, Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians, Assist in preparing and maintaining test setups of UAVs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design Test Equipment to enable Acceptance testing of Systems/Sub-systems/products
• Design and Develop Test Bench Layout
• Verify compliance with specifications, standards, and customer requirements
• Design and coordinate Data Packs for Test Equipment Components
• Design PCB Layouts for Test Equipment
• Integrate and test designed Test Equipment
• Collaborate with Engineers and other Technicians to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations and standards (e.g. ISO Standards)
• Provides training for operators of dedicated Test Equipment
• Create CAD drawings and illustrations to support prototype development and product specifications
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of equipment maintenance history, including service logs, work orders, and inventory documentation.

• Testing of Systems as per Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)
Education & Experience:
• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in design and development of specialized/dedicated Test Equipment, preferably in UAV, aerospace, or electronics industries.
• Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, signal generators, and other diagnostic tools.
• Basic understanding of UAV systems and components (electrical, avionics, propulsion, etc.) preferred.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Altium) for test equipment design support and modification preferred.
• Familiarity with standard electrical and mechanical test procedures and instrumentation preferred.
• Experience working with automated testing systems or programming languages (e.g., LabVIEW, Python) is preferred.
