About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Tax Lead to oversee all tax-related activities for our multinational platform. This standalone role will report directly to the Platform CFO with a dotted-line reporting to the Group Head of Tax. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in indirect tax, international tax, corporate tax, and transfer pricing. This is a hands-on role requiring in-depth knowledge of UAE tax regulations and practical experience in the region.
Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local and international tax laws and regulations, including VAT, corporate tax, and transfer pricing.
- Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the group’s tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
- Reporting: Prepare and review tax returns, financial statements, and other tax-related documents.
- Advisory: Provide tax advice to senior management and other departments on various business transactions and projects.
- Audit Support: Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Transfer Pricing: Develop and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation in compliance with international standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensuring robust internal controls and processes.
- Business Collaboration: Work closely with various business units to understand their operations and provide tax-related insights and support to deliver value.
- Stakeholder Management: Liaise with the Platform CFO and Group Head of Tax to align tax strategies with overall business objectives and ensure effective communication of tax matters.
- Team support: Support finance teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, CPA) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant tax experience, with a focus on indirect tax, international tax, corporate tax, and transfer pricing. Experience in the UAE is essential.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in tax software and ERP systems.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of UAE tax laws and regulations, as well as international tax principles and practices.
