Job Description
- Diagnose, treat, and manage sports-related injuries, including musculoskeletal injuries, joint and soft tissue injuries, fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, and overuse injuries.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of athletes, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRI, ultrasound, and functional movement assessments).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans for athletes, including non-surgical interventions, physical therapy, and injury prevention strategies.
- Manage conservative treatment options such as rest, ice, compression, elevation (R.I.C.E.), physiotherapy, and medications to alleviate pain and promote healing.
- Collaborate with physiotherapists, orthopedic surgeons, nutritionists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Provide guidance and support to athletes on injury prevention, performance optimization, and rehabilitation.
- Advise on safe return-to-sport protocols and help athletes regain strength, flexibility, and endurance after an injury.
- Conduct pre-participation physical exams to assess an athlete’s fitness for specific sports and identify potential injury risks.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sports medicine, including new treatments, technologies, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Participate in sports medicine-related research, clinical trials, or academic activities, if applicable.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.

Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate qualification in Sports Medicine (MD, DNB, or equivalent).
- Certification or fellowship in Sports Medicine from a recognized institution or professional body.
- Valid medical license to practice as a Sports Medicine Specialist.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal injuries and managing rehabilitation protocols.
- Strong understanding of sports-specific biomechanics and injury prevention strategies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and other healthcare professionals.
