Job Description
- Diagnose and treat patients with various sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, central sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, parasomnias, and restless leg syndrome.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed medical histories, physical exams, and relevant diagnostic tests (e.g., polysomnography, home sleep studies, actigraphy).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the diagnosis, including pharmacologic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), and lifestyle modifications.
- Manage and monitor patients undergoing CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) or BiPAP therapy for sleep apnea, including follow-up care and compliance assessments.
- Educate patients and their families on the importance of sleep hygiene, proper sleep habits, and treatment options for sleep disorders.
- Collaborate with other specialists, including pulmonologists, cardiologists, neurologists, and psychologists, for the comprehensive management of patients with sleep-related conditions.
- Conduct regular follow-up visits and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in sleep medicine, including new diagnostic tools and therapies.
- Participate in clinical research, sleep studies, or academic projects related to sleep disorders, if applicable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior medical staff or fellows in the field of sleep medicine.

Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Postgraduate qualification in Sleep Medicine or related specialty (e.g., Pulmonology, Neurology, Internal Medicine).
- Certification in Sleep Medicine (e.g., American Board of Sleep Medicine or equivalent).
- Valid medical license to practice as a Sleep Medicine Specialist.
- Expertise in interpreting sleep studies (polysomnography, home sleep testing).
- Proficiency in the use of CPAP/BiPAP and other sleep-related devices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to educate and guide patients effectively.
