Job Description
Typical work activities:
- assessing patients and interpreting clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
- performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high- quality images;
- observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department;
- assisting in more complex radiological examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and senior staff;
- working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is provided to patients, for example by sharing specialist knowledge and expertise;
- using initiative to prioritize, deliver and time-manage workload effectively and, when appropriate, assisting senior staff to plan efficient control of work flow patterns within the department;
- communicating with patients and others in a clear, respectful and appropriate way;
- positioning patients safely for examinations and, if necessary, adapting standard techniques depending on medical conditions associated with disability, illness or trauma;
- dealing confidently with difficult situations;
- recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality;
- learning new techniques and technologies as required by professional bodies and participating in annual performance appraisal programmes;
- supervising assistant practitioners, and other staff, and delivering appropriate training;
- performing necessary administrative tasks, when required;
- understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others;
- undertaking quality control checks on X-rays and associated equipment, and contributing to quality assurance and audit initiatives;
- Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported to Biomedical and HOD.
- reporting incidents of injury to yourself or others according to departmental procedures;
- Maintaining high levels of cleanliness and tidiness within the department.
- Ensure LMP & rule out pregnancy in female patients.
- To ensure that the consent form is dully filled up.
- To Assist Radiologist in maintaining department flow
- Explain contrast risk to patients and clarify patients doubts (if needed in conjunction with radiologist)
- To maintains stocks of film/contrast
- To Manage PACS and HMS as need may be.
- To perform any other other work/job as and when assigned by the superior
- Adherance to JCIA and other standards.
- Ensure Continous Professional Development.
- Arranging forms for Radiologist for reporting and ensure timely delivery of images for reporting.
- Routine X-ray, Fluoroscopy,CT AND + BMD +C-ARM
- To ensure the rooms and equipment are kept clean.
- To explain to the patient before starting the procedure.
- To ensure that necessary radiation protection is given to the patient.
- To take x-ray as per the instruction and given if for digital processing.
- To check the quality of x-ray before the patient leaves the department.
- To send the images for reporting to doctor’s through PACS system
- To attend the bedside x-rays and theater calls whenever required.
- To give necessary instruction and appointment to the patient in case of contrast studies.
- To carry out the fluoroscopy procedures according to the instruction given by the radiologist.

Qualifications
- QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL
SKILLS
- College Degree in Radiography or its equivalent
- Current license in the country of origin, with DOH License to practice in Dubai,
UAE
- The ability to apply technical skills, together with a demonstrable knowledge of and interest in sciences, such as anatomy, physiology and physics;
- Self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure;
- Fluent spoken and written English. Spoken Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
- At least three years experience
- A supportive and caring disposition;
- Adaptability and good time management skills;
- Team working ability;
- Confidence in dealing with stressful situations;
- IT competencies.
