Materials & Corrosion Engineer Jobs in Abu Dhabi, UAE
Job Requirement
KBR is seeking a highly skilled Materials and Corrosion Engineer who will be based in KBR Abu Dhabi Operating Center, UAE. The candidate will be part of a growing team of Materials & Corrosion Engineers that is supporting various Oil & Gas projects in the Middle East & Africa.
The candidate should have proven experience in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and/or Detailed Engineering Design (DED) and Concept Select of medium to large scale projects. Good knowledge and understanding of the most prevalent degradation mechanisms in the Oil & Gas Industry and relevant corrosion mitigation strategies. Key responsibilities will include preparation of FEED/Detailed Engineering Design philosophies/Design Basis, Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Corrosion Control Documents, etc. Good knowledge and experience in Cathodic Protection deliverables.
Key Skills & Technical Competencies:
- BSc. /B.Eng. Degree Materials, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 – 12 years of experience in Oil & Gas Engineering Projects.
- Experience and knowledge in Materials & Corrosion deliverables in FEED & Detailed Engineering Design Phases.
- Good knowledge of Cathodic Protection (FEED & DED) deliverables – CP certification will be an advantage.
- Experience on Middle East projects is important for the role.
- Basic knowledge of Integrity Operating Windows and Corrosion Monitoring Techniques.
- Good skills in writing comprehensive technical reports, presentation, communication, and collaboration with various disciplines.
- Familiar with relevant industry codes, standards, and recommended practices.
- Knowledge and experience of corrosion modelling using the industry recognized software tools
Job Responsibility and Requirement
- Prepare Material Selection Report, Material Selection Diagrams, Materials & Corrosion Philosophy Documents, Cathodic Protection Scope of Work/Design Basis and Material Take Off.
- Perform corrosion rate modelling using industry recognized corrosion modelling software such as ECE 5.8 (minimum) as part of the material selection process.
- Produce calculations and technical reports as per project requirements.
- Application and Knowledge of the relevant Industry Standards/Recommended Practices such as NACE MR0175/ISO 15156, MR0103/ISO 17495-1, etc.
- Knowledge of Corrosion Risk Assessment study and Material & Corrosion Audit process.
- Define corrosion control and mitigation strategies as part of the material selection process.
- Keep abreast with the latest trends and advancements in material science and corrosion engineering, proactively integrating new technologies and methods into design processes.
Experience required:
- Minimum 8 – 12 years of Oil & Gas Industry experience
- FEED/DED Corrosion and Materials Deliverables
- Material Selection Reports, Corrosion Control Documents, Corrosion Modelling, Material Selection Diagrams, Corrosion Monitoring and Chemical Injection Specifications.

Mandatory:
