Roles and Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in relation to Dimensional Control activities and provide interpretation to standards, codes, class rules, specifications, and procedures as applicable.
• Plan & organize resources and dimensional control activities inside the organization and at the subcontractors’ sites.
• Actively participate in Production Engineering and Construction planning phase during preparation of DAP (Detailed Assembly Plan). Accordingly, prepare relevant dimension control procedures, DC plan and register of critical dimensions, inspection check sheets considering hold points as per ITP from built strategy at various stages of project execution.
• During the construction, provide accurate and on time information to production / class / client relative to all dimension control activities on assigned project.
• Attend audits, meetings, participate in identifying the root cause in case of non-compliances and implement appropriate corrective action as per the situations following applicable company, project, industry and class standards. Anticipate and take preventive actions to mitigate Dimensional Control problems, failures, defective works, and deficient reports.
• Work on alternative solutions and possible approvals, in co-ordination with production, project manager, client & class for out of tolerances issues during fabrication.
• Mentor and train dimension control personnel assigned to the project and ensure they are working in accordance with relevant work instructions and occupational health & safety requirements.
• Establish and implement periodical reporting system on team and project performance and as per KPI parameters. Analyse dimension control process, develop & implement new procedures and systems to enhance the efficiency and productivity.
• Ensure dimensional control equipment and tolls are available, right for the assigned task and intent, fully functional and calibrated. Keep abreast of latest market and industry trends and developments.
• Cross check/Monitor of Dimensional controller work in the field to ensure they are meeting requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Degree / Diploma in relevant field
• 20+ years of experience in similar role on major (>500mil) projects with exposure to NORSOK, EEMUA and equivalent offshore requirements
• Expertise in Best-Fit software, AutoCAD and Microsoft office.
• Expertise in total station / all manual measurement tools
• Good knowledge of fabrication methods includes welding procedure and process.
• Knowledge of dimensional control software include AutoCAD with 3D.
• Knowledge of standards and tolerances for new building and conversion projects.
