About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Head Chef to join the Dhow & Anchor, a sporty gastropub & terrace with a hearty British spirit at Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Develop creative and seasonal menus aligned with the restaurant’s concept and the preferences of the target market, while staying updated on market trends and competitor offerings.
- Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food, while fostering a motivated and productive work environment through training and development.
- Oversee cost-effective kitchen operations by controlling food costs, managing resources efficiently, and maintaining accurate recipe documentation in coordination with senior chefs.
- Ensure strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and equipment maintenance standards in line with HACCP guidelines, working closely with the Stewarding Manager to uphold cleanliness.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs for timely reporting, team scheduling, and operational planning, while organizing and executing food promotions and special culinary events.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for kitchen staff and implement development plans to support continuous growth and performance improvement.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role within five-star hotels or fine dining gastro pubs/taverns in England.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Proven ability to develop creative menus and manage food costs effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety regulations.
