About the job
Summary of Job purpose-
Responsible for overall direction, execution, control and completion of Construction and related activities of the Ship/ Rigs building Project. Shall also assist Project Manager in smooth handover of the Project to Client while meeting Project’s contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities-
- Policies, processes & procedures:
• Implements approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provides instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
• Device and implement controls to ensure no violation of ISR regulations to protect the company information / intellectual properties.
- Day-to-day operations:
• Ensure Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard and Project are met.
• Lead and Plan Construction and related activities of the Project.
• Together with Project Planner develop Construction plans and schedules in line with Project’s Contractual requirements.
• Prepare Construction Methodology for assigned Projects and assist Project Manager in ensuring seamless delivery of the Project.
• Manage resource allocation for assigned project and Liaise with NB departments and all supporting trades.
• Lead and ensure successful completion of all construction activities prior to handover to MC/Commissioning team.
• Prepare progress reports with Project Planner and present to Project Manager/Dept Head.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head.

• Responsible to comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls and to behave in a manner, which ensures that their actions or omissions, do not adversely affect the
environment, health, safety and wellbeing of themselves, colleagues, contractors or members of the public.
• Meeting all responsibilities as outlined in the DDW OHSMS.
• Participating in any training and safety initiatives implemented by the Company.
• Complying with all Safety directives, and work instructions.
• Immediately reporting any incident or potential hazard to their Supervisor or Safety Dept.
• STOP the task if you feel yourself or others may be harmed.
• Ensuring that all work is properly planned, communicated, and executed safely.
• Advise workers on potential Health and Safety hazards and there controls.
• Conducting regular inspections of work areas to identify and eliminate hazardous conditions and practices.
• Reporting to Line Manager / Safety Inspector promptly regarding incidents, hazards, unsafe plant, equipment or other safety concerns.
• STOP any worker performing an unsafe act and reinforce positive attitude amongst work force.
- Educational & Technical competencies:
• Mechanical or Naval Architecture background and having shipyard/ Heavy fabrication yard experience.
• Minimum 6 Years experience.
• Good knowledge of up to date shipbuilding and offshore construction process.
• Computer Proficient MS Office, AutoCAD, MS Project.
• Ability to effectively apply project management techniques.
• Proficient in application of analytical tools and techniques.
• Critical thinking, trouble shooting, adaptive and self-motivating.
